End of Summer Hamburger Grilling Recipe

This summer has been great, you have spent lots of time nurturing your garden and growing wonderfully delicious treats. Now as Summer winds down and the kids head back to school, there is still plenty of time to enjoy good food outdoors!

Here are some fun ways to spruce up your grilled hamburgers, turkey burgers or veggie burgers!

  • Jazz it up with a slice of smoked white cheddar cheese and pesto.
  • Add a slice of pineapple and barbecue sauce. Also add raspberries for tangy flavor and pretty color.
  • Add garlic cheddar cheese, fresh tomato, fresh basil leaves for a fresh twist.
  • Spice it up a bit by adding Habanero jack cheese or a few jalapenos or green chiles. Also goes nicely with avocado and Pico de Gallo.
  • Supplement your burger with caramelized onions, roasted potatoes and fresh lettuce.
  • Add sun dried tomatoes, black olives, fresh arugula and goat cheese.
  • Fresh avocado and salsa will add a nice healthy kick to any burger.

You can spruce up just about any recipe by adding fresh ingredients from your garden. Basil, tomatoes and jalapenos make a great addition to any dish. Growing your own herbs and vegetables is a great way to save money and add freshness to your summer menu.
