Jon Elliott – Jon has been in the green industry since 1985 and with Swingle since 2004. He is a Certified Arborist and Certified Tree Worker – holding a pesticide applicator license with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Jon received his Associate in Horticulture with an emphasis on Urban Forestry from Front Range College. Jon was the Arborist for the City of Denver for 15 years. In 2008 he served as President of the International Society of Arboriculture, Rocky Mountain Chapter. Each year, Jon participates in a 500-mile bicycle ride to raise money for the TREE FUND, which provides grants to colleges and researchers.
Michael Guenther – With Swingle since 1987, Michael’s green industry experience dates back to 1983. His Bachelor’s of Science with a plant pathology concentration is from Colorado State University. Michael was among the first to be designated Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture, and Qualified Supervisor with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. A Dale Carnegie course graduate, Michael’s customer service record has earned him Swingle’s Top Residential Account Representative designation for several years. “Fulfilling my client’s landscape care needs is an exceptionally gratifying part of my job.”
Tony Hahn – If Tony looks familiar, he is. He’s the “face” of Swingle on 7News, 9News and KHOW-630AM radio and a veteran of the green industry 1979. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Michigan State University in 1982. Tony came to Colorado in 1979 with Wilmore and Country Fair Garden Centers and became a Field Services Manager for Chemlawn Services for 6 years before joining Swingle in 1990.
Greg LaCasse – Joining Swingle in 1985, Greg spent several years in the company’s Plant Health Care department as a Supervisor before moving into a management role in the same department. In 1998, Greg began his sales role in Swingle’s newly acquired Christmas Décor franchise and quickly became the foremost authority in Swingle’s holiday décor department, where he’s earned many design achievement and customer satisfaction awards. Greg has a Qualified Supervisor license with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. His green industry experience dates back to 1980.
Tom Martin – Tom has been in the green industry and with Swingle since 1999. He is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and a Qualified Supervisor with the Colorado Department of Agriculture since 2001. Tom prides himself on delivering the best service possible by providing honest, straightforward practical advice to his clients.
Jeff Yrineo – Jeff began his career at Swingle in 1986 and quickly became one of the region’s top tree care specialists. He’s been a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture since 1991, and served on the board of directors for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ISA in 1996/1997. Jeff’s passion for tree care lead him to a supervisory position in Swingle’s Enhancement Department, where he was effective for over fifteen years with an emphasis in shade trees and large technical removals.
Tom C. Tews – Tom’s love of the Colorado outdoors combines well with his passion for helping his clients make their outdoor spaces more enjoyable. A green industry professional since 1979 and with Swingle since 1994, Tom became a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture in 1994 and a Qualified Supervisor with the Colorado Department of Agriculture in 1991.
Charley Schreiber – Charley has worked in the green industry since 2009 and joined the Swingle team in 2012. Charley received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, majoring in Landscape Management. He’s also a Landscape Industry Certified Manager through Planet: Professional Landcare Network. Originally from the Seattle area, Charley loves spending time in the great outdoors and with the people of Colorado.
Bill DeStefano – Bill has worked in the lawn and tree care industry since 1988 – bringing with him many years of invaluable experience. Bill owned and operated Advanced Tree & Lawn Care from 1996 until 2014, at which time he sold his business to Swingle and decided to join the team.
Commercial Landscape Care Consultant Team
Rodney Bashaw – Rodney has been in the green industry since 1986 and with Swingle since 1993. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Arboriculture from the University of Wisconsin. Rodney is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture since 1989 and is also a Qualified Supervisor with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. His love of the outdoors, love for trees and passion for his clients brings joy to his career.
Matt Schovel – Matt is a second generation Arborist. He has been in the green industry in Colorado since 1982 and with Swingle since 2000. Before coming to Swingle, Matt owned a tree care and landscaping business in Colorado Springs. He now leads the commercial business development and commercial sales department at Swingle. He is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and a Qualified Supervisor with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. He is actively involved in Denver BOMA. Colorado Biz Magazine named Matt “One of the Top 25 Most Powerful Salespeople” in Colorado.
Jason Kleinsmith – Jason has worked in the green industry since 2003 where he got his start as a Wildland Firefighter for the State of Alaska Forest Service. His passion for the outdoors and his love of trees inspired him to become a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture. He has worked in both residential and commercial sales over the last ten years in the Summit County and Denver areas. His broad range of experiences in the industry, in addition to his desire to help people better understand their landscape, lead Jason to the Swingle team in February of 2014.
Fort Collins Branch

Eric Shaub – Eric has been in the green industry since 1995 and with Swingle since 2005. He received his Bachelors Degree in Forestry from Colorado State University, graduating in 1995. Eric holds a Qualified Supervisors license from the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
Dan Simpson – Originally from New Jersey, Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from Rutgers University. Dan has been in the green industry since 1999 and with Swingle since 2006.
Dan Schroder – Dan started as a technician in our Plant Health Care division, protecting the health of trees and shrubs along the Front Range. He moved from department to department gaining the necessary experience to become a supervisor in 2005. In 2008, Dan moved to Fort Collins as a supervisor and continued in that role until 2013 when he joined the Landscape Care Consultant team.
Residential & Commercial Landscape Care Consultant Team
Mike Masters – Mike is a Colorado native who grew up in Colorado Springs and has worked in the green industry since 2010. He began his career working at a local Fort Collins nursery where he enjoyed helping people select the right trees and shrubs for their landscaping needs. Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Horticulture from Colorado State University and joined Swingle directly after graduation as an aerate technician. Mike’s knowledge and hard work soon helped him become a part of the Christmas décor and Plant Health Care departments, ultimately leading him to become a Qualified Supervisor with the Department of Agriculture. He is currently serving Swingle customers as a Landscape Care consultant in the Greeley area.
Bernie Smith – Bernie has been in the green industry for two decades. He joined Swingle in 1994 as a climbing arborist for Enhancement Services. Bernie is an ISA Certified Arborist, holds an ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) and is licensed with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Bernie’s passion for helping others was one of the main reasons for him joining the LCC team – contributing his enthusiasm and experience in order to better identify practical solutions. He considers this the best part of every day.
Keith Timm – Keith joined Swingle in December 2014. He is a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture and a member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter. In addition, he holds a Qualified Supervisor License in Turf and Ornamental Pest Control through the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Keith has over 30 years of Sales and Project Management experience in the Green Industry and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Landscape Technology from Anoka Technical College. He is a native Minnesotan who has six children and three grandchildren. Keith, and his wife, moved to Colorado to be near their family – joining the Swingle team as a Landscape Care Consultant.
